Katie Bowers, LMSW
Katie Bowers is a licensed master social worker who believes that our lives are shaped by our mindset, relationships, experiences, and larger societal systems. When you work with Katie, you can expect to collaboratively work together to understand your story and feel empowered to shape your future.
Katie utilizes a number of therapeutic modalities (such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy [ACT], Cognitive Behavioral Therapy [CBT], mindfulness, positive psychology, solution-focused, person-centered) with psychoeducation to help clients develop their skills and systems to cope with anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation, and life transitions. Her therapeutic practice is informed by relational, psychodynamic, feminist, and queer theory. Katie also has worked as a community organizer for 10+ years and can provide specialized support to those in leadership and social change positions looking to prevent and/or heal from burnout, stress, and secondary trauma.

Prior to becoming a social worker, Katie worked in outdoor education. She believes strongly in the healing benefits of being in nature, and is happy to work with interested clients in incorporating that into their therapeutic journey.
Katie graduated from Hunter College with her Master of Social Work. During her training, she worked with young people who were organizing to improve their communities. Katie works as a therapist under the supervision of Dr. Elisa M. Harris.
